Let's make a few things clear because the Left is trying to redefine a whole swath of the English language merely to suit its needs.
First, racism is not a system. Racism is a belief or an attitude. Specifically, it is the belief "that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others."[1] The term may also be used to describe prejudice based on race. Alternatively, racism may be defined as the belief "that races have distinctive cultural characteristics determined by hereditary factors and this endows some races with an intrinsic superiority over others."[2] In no way do these definitions come near describing "a system."
Nevertheless, the CDC has audaciously stated in a release entitled "Health Equity" that "Racism is a Serious Threat to the Public's Health." This ignorant, comment on the part of the CDC is as offensive as it is itself racist and hate filled. In fact, the comment is so out of touch with reality that its utterance merits shutting down the CDC, firing its entire staff, and starting anew.
Any serious observer who makes a comment ascribing any injustice or inequity to racism must first demonstrate that there is indeed racism. However, the CDC does not do this. Instead, the CDC attempts to commandeer a word and give it a definition that it does not possess. Specifically, the CDC attempts to claim that "Racism is a system–consisting of policies, practices, and norms–that assigns value and determines opportunity based on the way people look, or the color of their skin." The CDC's sleight of hand may be subtle in form, but it is colossal in its application. With a few clicks of a keyboard, the CDC, following the lead from the radical Left, has attempted to change "racism" from an abhorrent, despicable, immoral, and unchristian belief into something else.
The difference is key because if racism is a belief, then it is the people with the deranged belief system that must be addressed. If it is a system, then it matters not what the people believe or do not believe, the only thing that matters is the mere existence of the system and thus it should be destroyed.
Let's explore this further. . .
